DART Schedule for July 4, 2017

Wilmington --

Independence Day, Tuesday, July 4, 2017 - DART First State services, both fixed route and paratransit, will not operate on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, with the exception of the Beach Bus services, its related paratransit service, and the Route 305 - Beach Connection.

The Beach Bus services operate frequent buses on seven routes serving the NEW Lewes Park & Ride, Rehoboth Beach and the Boardwalk, Lewes, Long Neck, Dewey Beach, Bethany Beach, South Bethany Beach, Fenwick Island, and Ocean City, MD. The service operates 7 days a week from approximately 7 AM to 2 AM, with more frequency than ever before. All buses are air-conditioned, ADA accessible and equipped with bike racks. The fare is $2 per trip; Daily Pass is $4.20; and new this year are the 7-Day Pass for just $18 and a 30-Day Pass for $65.

DART's 305 Beach Connection provides a relaxing ride from Wilmington to Rehoboth Beach on Friday nights, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays through September 4. The fares have been reduced to $2 per zone, making it a much more economical ride. Now, the one-way cash fare is $10 from Wilmington, $8 from Middletown and $6 from Dover. Riders are encouraged to buy a 3-Zone Anywhere pass for $12.60, which can also be used on all Beach Bus services, once at either of the Park & Rides.

DART recently launched a new mobile payment app for its local Beach Bus Services, making the DART experience more user-friendly and convenient for its riders. The mobile payment option, available through Token Transit, is an easy-to-use mobile app for riders to pay their bus fare using their smartphones. The app displays a digital pass on the phone's screen, eliminating the need for a paper pass or cash. The Token Transit app is a free download that can be accessed within the DelDOT mobile app under the Mobile Pay tab at the bus stop level; from the Apple and Google Play stores; or text "TOKEN" to 41411.

A NEW Park & Ride at Lewes Transit Center is now open on DE Route 1, just south of U.S. 9 near Five Points, offering free parking. And, DART continues to offer Beach Bus service from the Rehoboth Park & Ride. The parking fee is $10/vehicle and includes up to 4 Daily Passes.

SEPTA's Wilmington/Newark Line will operate a weekend schedule. See Schedule here. DART's Transportation Store at the Wilmington Station will be closed. Passengers are encouraged to purchase their train fares in advance, or if paid on the train, a credit for the difference can be received at a Philadelphia SEPTA ticket counter.
