DART's Adopt-A-Shelter program, started in 2011, enlists community and business partnerships to adopt and help maintain public DART bus shelters throughout the State. DART believes that these partnerships result in more attractive and cleaner shelter environments for our customers while also reducing the number of incidents and associated costs of vandalism. It is also an opportunity for individuals and/or groups to be publicly recognized for their contribution and service to our community.

DART publicly recognizes shelter adopters with a plaque at the shelter, in media releases, recognition on DART's popular web site, and with a framed wall certificate.

We look forward to many organizations coming forth to be recognized for helping us keep our shelters clean and safe. All it takes is a single page Adopt-A-Shelter agreement that allows the shelter adopter to determine the maintenance schedule or agree on a schedule set by DART.
