DART First State Transit Theme Poster Contest
Let's encourage today's students to learn more about Delaware's Public Transit System. DART First State invites you to partner with us by having your students participate in our Annual Transit Theme Poster Contest.
2026 THEME
DARTLEY’s Passport to Discovery: Where Could DART Take You? With DART’s dedication to connecting communities and inspiring exploration across Delaware, DARTLEY, DART’s Traveling Companion, invites students to imagine the adventures that begin with a ride on the DART bus. Students are encouraged to illustrate experiences and new places they can travel with DARTLEY while using public transportation. Turning everyday bus rides into moments of discovery, imagination, and memories.
ELIGIBILITY
Children in Grades 6 through 12.
SCHOOL/ORGANIZATION ROLE
Conduct the poster contest and forward student posters to DART First State by mail for judging. Use the poster theme/contest in your curriculum and classroom work if applicable.
THE POSTER
The poster can be created using colored pencils, crayons, paints, markers, and digital art. Students creating digital artwork must download and use the official DARTLEY image provided. The poster size is to be on 8.5” x 11” or 11” x 17” in size paper. The DART logo must appear on drawings and include the text “DARTLEY’S PASSPORT TO DISCOVERY”. All lettering must be legible, and words must be spelled correctly, even when used as a design element. Please include the student’s name, address, age, grade level, school/organization name and address, teacher/advisor name, and contact information on the reverse of the poster artwork board.
DEADLINE
Please postmark no later than March 23, 2026.
JUDGING & AWARDS
DART will judge the entries for originality, theme presentation, and artistic quality. A First Place Winner will be chosen from each grade, and from those winners, a Grand Prize Winner will be selected. The Grand Prize Winner will have their poster displayed on all DART buses. All winners will receive an award certificate and gifts from DART and its business partners, and all the winning posters will be displayed on DART’s website, DartFirstState.com. All artwork becomes the property of DART and may be used in future advertising or promotional materials with appropriate credit to the artist.
